FRIGILIANA AND NERJA

Set off from Malaga and enjoy the fresh ocean air on this 5-hour tour to the Spanish towns of Frigiliana and Nerja. Sit back and enjoy the Mediterranean scenery from an air-conditioned coach, and visit Frigiliana to admire its whitewashed houses, see the Moorish fortress and shop for local pottery and wine. In nearby Nerja, amble through the old alleyways, stroll along the sandy coves and upgrade your tour, if you wish, to visit the prehistoric Caves of Nerja. Learn about the history of the sights from a guide along the way.

Leave Malaga behind and enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean scenery as you travel by coach along the coastal roads. Arrive in the town of Frigiliana after a 1-hour drive.Wander the village’s charming lanes, admire the uniformly painted houses, and see the medieval fortress, a stronghold of the last Moors — the Muslim inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula. Have free time to enjoy lunch or shop for souvenirs, local pottery or dessert wine, for which the area is famous.Just outside of the village, take a walk along the cliffside promenade, once the site of a great Moorish castle. With its sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the hazy, blue mountains in the distance, this is the perfect place to pause for photos.Drive a few minutes south to the seaside town of Nerja. With your guide, explore the winding streets of the old part of town, with its lovely whitewashed houses and flowering balconies. Enjoy some free time to explore more on your own, or upgrade to head inside the fascinating Caves of Nerja; the treasures inside these prehistoric caves make the expense worthwhile. Millions of years old, these famous caverns contain some of the oldest cave paintings in Spain. Explore the caves’ halls and galleries, which, over recent years, have become well known for hosting ballet performances. After your time in Nerja, travel back along the coast to Malaga and finish your tour at the start point.
