CANCELADA, ESTEPONA

Cancelada is
a few minutes drive away from the natural beauty of the Sierra de Ronda mountain range and twenty kilometres from the town of Estepona. An ancient farming community, once famous for sugar cane, today Cancelada is a refreshingly unspoilt area with an appeal all of its own. The area of Cancelada is only a stone throw from the very popular town of San Pedro Alcantara.  Most tourist visiting Cancelada would pop over to restarunts like El Carnicero or several of the English restaurants and  cafes that surround the area. By car you have the local beach  that would take you perhaps ten minute to reach. Popping into  San Pedro is a must for all. As you enter San Pedro, through the  entrance arch from the Cadiz direction, you meet a new San  Pedro, kept beautifully clean with a shopping area, quiet parks  and squares and beautiful gardens. Turn right off the main road  for the very long, newly constructed promenade and the long,  wide beaches. There is ample parking here along the sea-front.  You can walk up the main street, Marques del Duero, and straight along the pedestrian only street passing cafes and restaurants interspersed with clothes shops, shoe shops, a florist, a bank, the lottery office, the odd gift shop and a tobacconist until you reach the church square- the life centre of San Pedro and Cancelada.
